Atlantis Encoder On Heady Load

Last month, I’ve notice that Atlantis Radio Live streaming was a quit disturbing sometimes due to our encoder problem which is under heavy load. Heavy load which means that our encoder server are too busy processing some other tasks and our internet network connection are also affected and cause a buffering and sometimes disconnection. If you blame your internet connection for being slow because its keeps on disconnecting, no it’s not. Its in our network which is affected the data transfer from our encoder to the server. After 2 days of tweaking our new encoder, I’ve decided to switch to our new Atlantis Radio Encoder which we are using now. Please let me know if you’re having problem on listening by commenting below.

Hack Attempt and Malware Injection in our Themes

After completely moving our website, I discover by myself that if you came from google seaching a keyword “atlantis radio” or similar keyword which is pointing our website it will redirect you to malware website. I also receive several messages from our listeners that they can’t see the website or it was mess.

As immediate solution I scan the entire files and search for the malicious codes and found out that the “functions.php” in our themes has been modified by unknown user/s and injected a malicious codes into it. I cleaned up all the mess they created and secured all the holes and lastly create daily backup.

If you found any unusual in our website please report it immediately.

What is NGINX or “engine X” Server?

Nginx is a free, open-source, high-performance HTTP server and reverse proxy, as well as an IMAP/POP3 proxy server. Igor Sysoev started development of Nginx in 2002, with the first public release in 2004. Nginx now hosts nearly 12.18% (22.2M) of active sites across all domains. Nginx is known for its high performance, stability, rich feature set, simple configuration, and low resource consumption.

Nginx is one of a handful of servers written to address the C10K problem. Unlike traditional servers, Nginx doesn’t rely on threads to handle requests. Instead it uses a much more scalable event-driven (asynchronous) architecture. This architecture uses small, but more importantly, predictable amounts of memory under load.
Even if you don’t expect to handle thousands of simultaneous requests, you can still benefit from Nginx’s high-performance and small memory footprint. Nginx scales in all directions: from the smallest VPS all the way up to clusters of servers.

After a week of preparation, we have completely move Atlantis Radio Website to NGINX server which is better and reliable compare to other web server. As our visitors grows everyday I think it would be a nice idea to settle our website to a reliable infrastructure and solid foundation.

Want to hear your own voice in our radio? Our software will pull your voice in our database and queue it in our player once in every 4 songs, depending on the songs queued in our playlist (if no request on queue). OK, enough talk here’s what you gonna do.

Download our VOICE RECORDER and save wherever you like. (Saving the file to your desktop is recommended).
Open the “mp3voice.exe” file.
This simple program is not installed automatically.

So whats next if you have the software downloaded?

Record your voice and say something like “hi, i’m [your name] atlantis radio avid listeners. Merry christmas and happy new year to all of you please visit http://www.atlantisradio.net ..blah blah. ” its up to you how to say it. (Please relax when recording and don’t get nervous, you may take 3 bottles of beer before recording. I’m just joking please don’t do it. )
Please limit your recorded voice up to 15 seconds.
After recording please send your recorded voice to .
Please don’t expect to hear your voice on the day you send your email. We will check your recorded voice and edit it if necessary.
We will include it in our playlist after filter and you will be able to hear your voice.

New Request Express [Restored]

I would like to introduce the new interface of our request express. Means that you can now (again)request a song you like and enjoy listening to our automated playlist while waiting to your request. Our new request express has a unique design and upgraded ports to secure our server. The reason why we take down our site and the request features is due to lack of securities and it will compromise the entire server. Now here we are again.
